I highly recommend reading this book by Eliot Fintushel. It is a complex, many layered story that peels away onion skin after onion skin. No answers, only questions; His depictions of a zenapocalyptic city of a questionable form of enlightenment offers much to ponder. While offering much to chew on philosophic, moral and theological, it's a compelling adventure and action story with old fashioned heroes and heroines facing herculean journeys and puzzling, sometimes life threatening riddles. The "whaddyagets" are fabulous (in the true sense of the word of fables) and loveable, humorous creatures who live in the winding tunnels the heroes travel to reach the ineffable "city". They offer guidance and succor to our seekers of truth. Toss out your preconceptions, open your mind and take the journey. Plenty of profoundly humorous and warm moments too.
