Description

Product Description Be transported to world of serene beauty where you can experience your own connection to the stars. On this soundtrack for dreaming, legendary ambient music masters David & Steve Gordon take you on a sacred journey into the place where inner peace and deep space are one. By combining acoustic and electronic instruments, they create a visionary new sound that is perfect for meditation, yoga or relaxed mind explorations. Originally recorded in 1984, it was released on vinyl LP and cassette under the title Celestial Suite, and has not been available on compact disc until now.The Gordons created these recordings as part of their Visionary Environments series because they intended the music to take the listener on inner journeys into the world of the mind. This new version has been remastered using today's superior audio technology; and it includes an unreleased bonus track from another of their early Visionary Environments recording sessions. This is one of the classic spacemusic albums of ambient music from the 1980's, with a unique combination of electronic and organic instruments like acoustic guitar that was a completely new sound in electronic music and new age music at that time. Enjoy your trip... Review "Celestial Zen" stands out as a major contribution to contemporary ambient music. David's synthesizers sparkle with Starshowers; Steve's acoustic guitars shimmer in golden textures - Sonically transported into the galaxies, we stand awed by the beauty awakened within us.Whether they are presenting their own material or that of like-minded contemporaries, David & Steve Gordon are a dependable source of exquisite music for the healing arts. REIKI HEALING LIGHT once again shows their skill in crafting an album tailor-made for relaxation and therapy. The music, designed either to be used as a companion for the art of Reiki or simply to create a lush atmosphere conducive to inner peace, offers over an hour of gentle music that will make you forget your worries and surrender to blissful serenity. Most of the songs are based on ethereal synth ambience, dotted with fluid keyboard tones. Piano, flute and guitar come into play on various tracks, with the occasional use of vocals, most notably on Sophia's "Hidden Waters." David & Steve are responsible for most of the album's music, including the sublime "The Return," which reminds one of gently trickling water in a fountain. Shajan, Ashron and Nik Tyndall & Bernd Scholl are also featured --Music Design In ReviewDeeply inner and always intimate, quiet, serene and spacious. --Pulse MagazineOwing more to artists such as Eno and even electronic music pioneers like Morton Subotnick, the 54 minute Celestial Zen is very much an early ambient / electronic instrumental album filled with a unique mix of spacy electronics mixed with processed organic instruments like acoustic guitar. 2012 liner notes from the Gordon brothers shines a fresh light on this still essential space music masterpiece. --MWE3.comDeeply inner and always intimate, quiet, serene and spacious. --MWE3.com

First off this is a remaster of the 1982 release so the fidelity is nothing short of amazing. Kudos to the production.Another forgotten gem. This is very early space music from a duo that later went on to make some really schlocky new age/native drumming music. Their early efforts are unpretentious and this release in particular stand out in their early catalog.Space music both ambient and rhythmic with hints of arpeggios and lovely warm analog string sounds. Not really in the berlin-school league i.e. TD/Schulze mimics more "American" style electronica serene and uplifting without being the later 80s sappy piano driven drivel. Now if the two can release some more of their early catalog like Laughing River and Radiant Sea that would be a welcome ear feast for the indie electronic music listening aficionados!
